CONEJO SCHOOLS
WASHINGTON 2027
- Late Registration Fee of $150 Applies to Registrations Received after December 31, 2026
Dear Parents and Students,
We are excited to offer our 2027 program to interested eighth grade students through our annual Spring vacation tour of Washington, D.C., Williamsburg, Mount Vernon, Monticello, and Gettysburg.
As teachers, we have seen the value of educational tour programs which stress structured learning experiences through the excitement of travel.
TravelEd has operated for more than forty years and has gained the reputation as the premier student travel program in our region. We are proud to offer a stimulating educational program, tailor-made for our students, designed much like a lesson plan using the nation’s Capital and historic sites as our classroom.
Planned sightseeing stops in Washington include: the Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt, & Martin Luther King, Jr. memorials, the War Memorials to WWII, Korea and Vietnam, the Smithsonian Institute museums, the Holocaust Museum, the National Archives, the U.S. Capitol and the Library of Congress. We are excited to share that Conejo students will get to “be in the room where it happened” with attendance at a performance of Hamilton!
In addition to all this, students will spend an entire day in historic Williamsburg and Jamestown. Through privately escorted tours and evening programs, students are able to “walk back into history.” We will also visit the battlefield at Gettysburg, tour Jefferson’s estate at Monticello, and Washington’s estate at Mt. Vernon.
Students will depart the evening of Thursday, March 25 from Los Angeles aboard a regularly scheduled airline and return the evening of Wednesday, March 31.
Once in Washington, we will enjoy deluxe, restroom-equipped, recliner coaches with experienced driver/guides. Students will be chaperoned throughout the trip with a 1:15 adult to student ratio. While in D.C., students will stay in deluxe accommodations such as Sheraton, Hyatt, or Hilton. In Williamsburg, students will stay in local hotels such as the Williamsburg Woodlands Conference Center – all with interior hallways. Rooms are well appointed with two large beds, cable TV, etc. Students will have an opportunity to select their own roommates, with four students assigned to each room.
All meals are provided during the trip. Vegetarian options are available; however, gluten-free options are limited.
Appropriate student behavior is crucial to the trip. Students will be screened and asked to provide a copy of their 10-week report card as evidence of their behavior and maturity.
The tour price of $2,630 includes: airfare (including one checked bag), airport transfers, lodging, sightseeing, all meals, all admissions, supervision, guide fees, and tips.
APPLICATIONS FOR REGISTRATION ARE INITIATED ONLINE AT TravelEd2DC.com, BEGINNING OCTOBER 5th. PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THE BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS AND REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS BELOW.
From experience we know that the trip will provide students with a learning experience and friendships that will last a lifetime. Our website (www.TravelEd2DC.com) should provide answers to most questions. If you have any additional questions, contact us at home in the evenings at the numbers listed below. Since this is not a school-sponsored program, PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL OR THE DISTRICT OFFICE.
Sincerely,
